A babymoon between Pienza and the Val d’Orcia

This babymoon photoshoot in Pienza follows an expecting couple from the historic centre to the fields of the Val d’Orcia: the stone lanes of the town, the tall golden grass, olive trees and cypresses, until the evening light.

Pienza

The lanes of Pienza

We started in the historic centre of Pienza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: stone lanes, the bell tower, the loggias.

The two of them walked hand in hand between the houses, stopping against the old stone walls. Some frames from the lanes we kept in black and white.

The countryside

The fields of the Val d’Orcia

Then we moved into the fields around the town: tall golden grass, white roads, cypresses and the hills of the Val d’Orcia behind them.

The whole landscape of the Val d’Orcia, with its farms and cultivated hills, is itself a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Among the olives

Lower down, among the olive trees and the tall grass, he led her by the hand as the sun went down. A babymoon is a short trip taken before the baby arrives, and this light is a good reason to spend it in the Val d’Orcia.
