Castiglioncello and Quercianella, Livorno
Castello Pasquini Wedding by the Sea
A civil ceremony in the castle of Castiglioncello, a light-blue Fiat Jolly and a seaside reception at Villa Margherita.

The story
A wedding on the Tuscan coast
This wedding took place along the coast near Livorno: the civil ceremony at Castello Pasquini in Castiglioncello and the reception at Villa Margherita in Quercianella, with its terrace and pool overlooking the sea.
It was a day of strong light and blue sky, the kind where the sea finds its way into almost every photo: through the castle windows, between the pines, on the rocks at sunset. We covered it all with photos and video, from the couple’s arrival to the night party with white balloons.

Arrival
Castello Pasquini
Castello Pasquini stands in a pine park above the sea in Castiglioncello. It is a medieval-style castle with a crenellated tower, stone walls and wrought-iron details like the dragon hanging on the front. The couple arrived along the pine-lined drive in a light-blue Fiat Jolly, the open beach car with wicker seats.
The guests were waiting for them in front of the castle, under the entrance arch.

The ceremony
The civil ceremony in the castle
The civil ceremony took place in a hall of the castle, with arched windows and red chairs for the guests. The couple looked at each other for a long moment, face to face, before exchanging rings.
Outside, rice was thrown in front of the castle, followed by hugs with friends and family in the courtyard.

The reception
Seaside wedding reception at Villa Margherita
The reception was held at Villa Margherita, a historic villa in Quercianella a little further north along the coast, with direct access to the sea. Its terraces look out over the rocks and the infinity pool faces the sea: the aperitivo was outdoors, and the seating plan was made of small hanging frames. More about the venue on the Villa Margherita website.
At sunset
The rocks and the party
Before the sun went down we took the couple down to the rocks below the villa, among the waves and the orange evening light, and finished the portraits on the terrace as the sky turned purple. Then the party: dancing, the cake and, late at night, the guests in the garden with white balloons around the couple.
